During the Alumni Lecture, which happened at SUC campus on February 17, 2020, Skyline Alumnus Mr. Moez Tariq Bakhshi, Compliance Officer at Emirates NBD, shared his academic and career journey to the current Skyliners.
Mr. Bakhshi who graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Travel & Tourism in 2011 and also completed his Master’s Degree in Finance in 2015 talked about the importance of planning and creating a strategy in reaching one’s career goals.
The CEO Lecture Series is a platform in which Skyline alumni share their stories to inspire students and give them insights about the different industries.
SUC keeps updating its teaching methodologies and approaches for students to improve their learning process. On that note, faculty members regularly conducts formative assessment to evaluate students’ academic progress. On February 9, 2020, faculty member Dr. Mohit Vij conducted a formative assessment for his Principles of Management students through the Online Game Quiz using the online tool Kahoot. Through this activity, students were able to assess their preparedness and determine the areas for improvement.

Skyline alumnus Mr. Jehad Mazen Zaher who is now working with Ernst & Young as an External Auditor conducted a guest lecture on February 15, 2020 at SUC campus for the MBA students. Mr. Zaher talked about the importance of developing behavioral skills to be successful at work.
It was an interactive talk with Mr. Zaher sharing his experiences with the students, and them asking questions about teamwork, leadership, and attitude, among others.

February 14 was a special day at SUC when students organized a Rose Day. The day gave an opportunity for students to express their appreciation to their friends by giving treats, showcasing their talents, and enjoying games where several students won special prizes.
Students should be introduced to the trends that are changing the way we do business. SUC faculty members regularly invite CEOs and industry experts to share their insights with the students. On that note, Mr. Syed Abdul Bari, Regional Sales Manager of Royal Cargo LLC, was recently invited to be a guest lecturer and discuss E-Supply Chain Management to the IT students. Mr. Syed discussed the concept of E-Supply Chain Management and the ways to successfully manage a supply chain online.
The members of SUC’s Toastmasters Club shared stories of positivity during the recent meeting which took place on February 11, 2020. TM Shahenaz Ghafour, Student Services Assistant, was the Toastmaster of the day.

To prepare the young generation for the technology-driven future, Skyline University College organized the “Changing the Gear” workshop for the students of the First Academy Ajman on February 4 and 5, 2020. Faculty members Dr. Hamzah Elrehail and Dr. Petr Svoboda gave sessions on “Innovation and Creativity.”
SUC regularly conducts workshops for school students as part of its CSR initiatives to impart knowledge and hone skills necessary to excel in a world dominated by technology.
Skyline University College, through its Sports Department, recently organized a birthday party for the international students staying in the hostel.
Skyline organizes various activities for the students staying at the hostel to make their living in the UAE more fun and also to make their student accommodation feel like a home away from home. At the hostel, students can also enjoy facilities such as the gym, where they can exercise to improve their health and fitness, and the common room, where they can relax and unwind.
In the latest Skyline Toastmasters Club meeting, TM Alok, Area 45 Director of Toastmasters International, served as the toastmaster of the day. With the theme “Stories,” the members shared their personal journeys. Three members also gave project speeches: P1, which is focused on identifying the members' speaking skills; P3, which helped members organize their speeches; and P9, which focused on developing persuasion skills.

Skyline University College, through the efforts of faculty member Dr. Taleb Eli and the Services Committee headed by Dr. Osama Ali Thawabeh, Dean for Student Affairs, organized a Drug Awareness seminar on January 27, 2019, at SUC Multi-Purpose Hall. This seminar is part of SUC’s annual drug awareness programs organized for its freshmen students.
The purpose of the event was to educate the students and other attendees about the dangers of drug abuse. The speakers were 1st Warrant Officer, Mr. Rashed Al-Shihi; First Sergeant Mr. Ahmed Shaker; First Sergeant, Ms. Hind Alnuaimi; and First Sergeant, Mr. Khalid Ali Mohammad of the Awareness and Rehabilitation section of the Sharjah Police Department.

The delegation from Gujarat, India, led by Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and Principal Secretary Anju Sharma of the Government of Gujarat visited Skyline to promote “ Study in Gujarat “ initiative by the state government on January 18, 2020. The delegation was welcomed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohammad In’airat; Director for Marketing and Communications, Mr. Rakesh Gaur; Dean for the School of Business, Dr. Ajith Kumar; and Dean for the School of IT, Dr. Deepak Kalra. The guests were briefed about Skyline's 30 years of academic excellence. During the visit, five MOUs (Memorandums of Understanding) with various academic institutions in Gujarat were signed. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohammad In’airat signed the MOU for Skyline. Dr. Nehal Shukha, Member of the Board of Governors, signed for Gujarat Technological University; Mr. Virkam Goyal, Associate Director, signed for Karnavati University; Dr. Arjav Bavarva, Executive Office of International Affairs, represented RK University; Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director, signed for the School of Petroleum and Technology of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU); and Dr. V.K. Srivastava, Vice-Chancellor, signed for Sankalchand Patel University.
The MOUs featured possible areas of collaboration in research activities, exchange of academic materials, and exchange among students and faculty members. Skyline University expresses it sincere gratitude to H.E. Vipul - Consul General, Consulate General of India in Dubai, and Mr. Pankaj Bodkhe, Consul (Economic and Education) for the opportunity given to host the delegation.
The Skyline community greeted the freshmen with excitement on their first day at SUC! Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohammad In’airat; Dean for Student Services Affairs, Dr. Osama Ali Thawabeh; Dr. Ajith Kumar, Dean for the School of Business; and Dr. Deepak Kalra, Dean for the School of IT welcomed the students, imparted the mission and vision of the university, discussed the rules and policies, and encouraged students to join clubs and committees as it will further develop their skills and prepare them for the professional world.
