Mission Slimpossible - Step Aerobics

It was a Thursday filled with energy at Skyline University when employees performed the step exercise as part of the Mission Slimpossible activities organized by the Sports Department and Human Resource Department.

Mission Slimpossible is the 5th edition of SUC’s fitness challenge which is regularly organized to encourage employees to live an active and healthy lifestyle.

SUC Alumni Fun Day at Sharjah Paintball Park

Courtesy Visits to Diplomats

Skyline Vice-Chairman and COEC, Mr. Nitin Anand; Director for Marketing and Communications, Mr. Rakesh Gaur; and Deputy Director for Government and Public Relations, Mr. Firas Al Tabbaa met with the diplomats of various countries on December 8 and discussed areas of collaboration, scholarship opportunities, community services, CSR initiatives, and community engagement including workshops for school students. 

SUC executives met Consul General of the Syrian Arab Republic in Dubai, H. E. Abdulghaffar Alghabra and Deputy Consul General H.E. Moutaz Douaji; Deputy Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, H.E. Giyand Chand and Culture Attaché, Ms. Asma Gilani; Deputy Consul General of Sudan in Dubai, H.E. Omar Osheak; and Consul General of the Philippines in Dubai, H.E. Mr. Paul Raymund Cortes.

 

SUC Charity Campaign and Emirates Red Crescent : Grace Conservation

Let’s embrace the spirit of giving this month by being part of the charity campaign organized by Grace Conservation of Emirates Red Crescent and Skyline University College. 

We encourage Skyline students, faculty, staff, and everyone from the local community to share their pre-loved clothes. You can drop your donations in front of the SUC Multi-Purpose Hall until December 16, 2019.

SUC Toastmasters: The Fear to Change

Toastmasters meeting is a way for members to acquire skills that they can use in their professional and personal lives. Skills such as public speaking, communication, and leadership are developed through presentations, improvisations, and getting feedback from evaluators.

The SUC Toastmasters Club members gathered together on November 5 for another club meeting. The group talked about “The Fear to Change” with Skyliner Mustafa Kur as the toastmaster of the day.

PSDP: Communication

SUC’s Professional Skill Development Program (PSDP) is a platform to develop students’ professional skills and abilities. Earlier this week, a PSDP workshop on the topic of Communication was conducted for sophomores taking the Social Psychology course.

Skyline Celebrates the 48th UAE National Day

Skyline University College (SUC) celebrated the 48th UAE National Day yesterday, November 27, 2019, at SUC campus. The campus decorated with the UAE flags and balloons was filled with joyful people dancing and singing to the tune of Arabic songs while enjoying freshly cooked traditional sweets. The employees and guests participated eagerly in various activities such as face painting, horse and camel ride, and outdoor games for kids. The guests were also entertained by the brilliant dance performances of the students of Mahila P.G. Mahavidyalaya from Jodhpur, India.  One of the highlights of the event was the ceremonial release of green, black, white and red balloons — the colors of the country’s flag — into the air. The Skyline community, headed by Vice-Chairman, Mr. Nitin Anand and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad In’airat, also welcomed the poet Ali Alkhawar in the event. The UAE National Day celebration was organized by Dr. Nizar Sahawneh and the students of Skyline University College.

Humanities Students Tour

To help students develop their socialization skills and inspire their love of literature and culture, our faculty brought our humanities students to the Sharjah Art Foundation’s Art Book Fair and Sharjah Art Museum where they learned about the publishing and literary culture, and rich history of the emirate.

Mission Slimpossible - Nutritional Talk

SUC’s Fitness Challenge continues!

Today, Skyline’s faculty and staff attended a nutritional talk by ValO’8 and a discussion on wellness delivered by health practitioners at Areej Medical Center.

This talk is one of the series of activities organized by the Sports Department as part of the 5th edition of SUC’s fitness challenge “Mission: Slimpossible," which encourages employees to lead a healthier lifestyle and gives them a chance to win exciting prizes!

Guest Lecture: Pro-Social Behavior and Helping

To expose students to various insights and perspectives and give them opportunities to learn something new, SUC faculty members regularly invite industry experts and professionals outside the academe to give lectures to students. On that note, Ms. Anuja Upadhya, a psychologist, gave a lecture on Pro-Social Behavior and Helping to Skyliners taking a Psychology course. Ms. Upadhya engaged the students in interactive activities to deepen their understanding of the topic.

SUC hosts a Cricket Match for Sri Lankan Embassy and Consulate

Yesterday, Skyline University College hosted a cricket match between Sri Lankan Embassy, Abu Dhabi, and Sri Lankan Consulate, Dubai. Sri Lankan Ambassador H.E. Majintha Jayesinghe and Sri Lankan Consul General H.E. Charita Yottagada graced the sporting event. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad In’airat, Director of Marketing and Communications, Mr. Rakesh Gaur; and Head of Sports, Mr. Sanjay Benjamin welcomed the guests and the athletes.

SUC Organizes the Innovation Exhibition 2019

56 students from 14 universities across the UAE participated in the 5th Innovation Exhibition, which was held at SUC campus on November 21, 2019. The students showcased innovative prototypes and presented pioneering ideas that can benefit society, from Smart Library to Smart School Bus, Smart Mirror, and Child Protection Device in a Vehicle, among others. Skyline students, Hamza and Shoaib, also participated in the competition with their innovative Potable Water by Condensation prototype. RTA also showcased their Tesla Model X all-electric SUV during the event.

 

The Innovation Exhibition is an annual activity that Skyline organizes to encourage students to be creative and innovative, and promote healthy competition.
