Dr. Mohit Vij, Associate Professor conducted a workshop on “Let's Embrace Eco-Tourism” at United International Private School, Dubai. He was invited as a speaker for the event “Green Week Celebration 2019” - an initiative of United International Private School towards raising awareness about the environment among school children. The workshop enlightened students about the concept of Eco-Tourism, its benefits to the environment and society, the major Eco-Tourism destinations in the UAE and the role of students in promoting environmentally friendly tourism.

A guest lecture was arranged for the BBA Marketing and Retail students of Dr. Shanmugan Joghee on November 12, 2019. Mr. Usman, Head Team Lead for Consumer Banking at Mashreq Bank, gave a talk on Consumer Behavior.
This guest lecture is regularly organized by SUC to expose students to various insights and perspectives and give them opportunities to learn new.

Skyline University College received an award during the Sharjah FDI Forum for being the event’s education partner. SUC Founder-Chairman, Mr. Kamal Puri accepted the award from His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on November 11, 2019, at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, Sharjah.
Also present were Mr. Nitin Anand, Vice-Chairman; Prof. Mohammad In’airat, Vice-Chancellor; Mr. Firas Al Tabbaa, Deputy Director for Government and Public Relations; Dr. Nizar Sahawneh, faculty member; and Mr. Bilal Banat, Assistant Manager for Business Development.

To provide students insight into the corporate world, improve their interpersonal and analytical skills, and give them the opportunity to choose the prospective area of work, Skyline faculty members regularly take students for industry visits.
On November 11, 2019, Skyline students from the School of Business along with Dr. Shanmugan Joghee visited Dubai Refreshment and learn about the company’s logistics and supply chain management. This industry visit was made possible through SUC’s Corporate Affairs Office.
With the goal of teaching students to think creatively and appreciate the value of innovation, Skyline University College, through its Teaching Effectiveness Committee, partnered with INJAZ, a non-profit organization which delivers experiential volunteer-based programs in Work Readiness, Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy to the youth, delivered a workshop designed for Innovation students on November 11, 2019, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Skyline campus, Sharjah.

Skyline University College (SUC) warmly welcomed around 2000 students from 47 schools in the UAE at the 11th Skyline Inter-School Sports Festival. The sportsfest commenced on November 2, 2019 and concluded on November 7, 2019. The students competed in various sports including football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, and table tennis.
The Skyline Inter-School Sports Festival is an annual event organized by SUC’s Sports Department, headed by Mr. Sanjay Benjamin, with an aim of creating a platform to inculcate in youth the spirit of teamwork and motivate them to live a healthy and active lifestyles.
The overall champion of 11th Inter-School Sports Festival 2019 is St. Mary’s Catholic High School Dubai with a total of 35 points.

42 students and faculty from Skyline University College (SUC) and schools from the UAE participated in the 67 minutes clean-up drive at Mamzar Beach organized by SUC in partnership with the South African Consulate General. This event was made possible through the efforts of Skyline faculty member Dr. Taleb Eli.
The Nelson Mandela International Day encourages people to work together for the good of humanity.
Over a hundred students from Sharjah American International School came to Skyline University College on November 5, 2019, for the “Changing the Gear Workshop.” Skyline faculty members Dr. Kakul Agha and Dr. Peter Svoboda gave a session on Creativity and Innovation, and Mr. Tauqeer talked about robotics.
Changing the Gear is a regular workshop conducted by Skyline University College as part of its initiatives of equipping the young generation with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a technology-driven future.

The SUC community gathered together for the flag-raising ceremony at SUC campus on November 3, 2019. The Vice-Chairman Mr. Nitin Anand, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohammad In’airat, hoisted the UAE flag along with the members of Academic Affairs Committee and Dr. Nizar Sahawneh.
SUC participates annually in the country’s flag-raising ceremony to honor and show its appreciation for the UAE and its leaders.

Skyline employees exhibit remarkable teamwork in the recent SUC Happy Hour. The Skyline team put up a valiant fight against the guest team Wesgreen International School in a cricket match.
The weekly Happy Hour is an initiative of the Human Resource Department (HRD) to provide a platform for faculty and staff to have fun and strengthen camaraderie.

FDP (Faculty Development Program) is a platform to cultivate an environment where teachers learn from each other and become lifelong learners. It is an initiative of the different committees at Skyline to ensure that faculty members continue to deliver quality and innovative education.
In the recent FDP meeting, the Research Committee members, Dr. Gouher Ahmed, Dr. Raid Al-Adaileh, and Dr. Sakkthivel A.M discussed various research themes; in an FDP training session Dr. John Senior of the Teaching Effectiveness Committee trained faculty in building responsive e-learning courses with Articulate Rise.
Upholding an ethical culture at workplace is vital. The role of ethics in finance should be instilled in the young generation. And what better way to do this than by letting students listen to real-life experiences of an industry expert from the Banking Sector. On that note, Dr. Kakul Agha recently invited Mr. Robin Antony, Assistant Vice President for Loyalty Program at ADCB, to talk about "Ethics in the Banking Sector" in her Business Ethics class.
SUC faculty members regularly invite industry experts and leaders to have an interface with the students to expose them to out-of-the-box ideas, new insights, and prepare them for the professional world.
