Skyline University College Executive Director and Chairman of the Executive Council, Mr. Nitin Anand has been revealed as the cover of Forbes Middle East May issue and was awarded The Next Generation Award last night May 10, 2017, at the 5th Forbes Middle East Top Indian Leaders in the Arab World 2017 event.

Forbes Middle East recognized Mr. Nitin Anand for his undoubted efforts of bringing forward his visions of growing the business to where it is positioned today. Executive director Mr. Nitin continues to uphold the legacy of the Founder and President Mr. Kamal Puri and dedicates his time overseeing and expanding the university’s reach not just locally but internationally.

3rd Pro-teachers Arabic Workshop

3rd Pro-teachers Arabic Workshop

 

Skyline University College and The Young Vision magazine have successfully conducted the 3rd Pro-teachers Arabic Workshop to more than 120 school teachers from Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman today, April 26, 2017 at SUC Multi-Purpose Hall. The two keynote speakers of the workshop were Ms. Nadine Bekhaazi, Founder of the Life Director Trainings and Life Coaching Events and SUC Associate Professor, Dr. Haitham Muhammad Musa Alzoubi. Both speakers have actively engaged the participants in activities and open discussions on 21st Century Classroom.

The Pro-teachers Arabic Workshop is a brainchild and initiative of SUC and TYV - The Young Vision to promote effective teaching among schoolteachers and to deliver the best quality education to students in the UAE.

​Skyline University‬ College faculty members and students paid a visit at Old Age Home, Sharjah as part of SUC’s social involvement and responsibility. The visit was organized by ‪‎SUC‬ Services Committee under the coordination of Dr. Mohammad Abdul Salam. The residents of Old Age Home were given flowers and dates as a sign of honoring and caring for the elderly. The Old Age Home management welcomed the SUC team and was briefed about the daily operations inside the home.
 
SUC continues to uphold its social community service responsibility towards creating awareness in the society.​

UN World Water Day Celebration

 

Skyline University College Services Committee has successfully conducted the UN World Water Day Celebration in cooperation with SHUROOQ and Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) on March 22, 2017 at Al Majaz Waterfront Park, Sharjah UAE. The Chief Guest of the event was HE Dr. Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of SEWA.

 

A painting competition was conducted for children ages 4-7, 8-12, and 13 and up and was followed by an awareness walk around Al Majaz Park that was participated in by faculty, staff, and students. SEWA Chairman, Dr. Rashid Al Leem also addressed a keynote speech and reminded the children about the importance of water.

 

SUC Services Committee organized the SUC World Water Day headed by Dr. Mohammad Abdul Salam and Coordinator Dr. Mahesh Agnihotri. SUC is grateful for the support and contribution of the World Water Day official partners: Cool&Cool, IFFCO, Tiffany, and Bee’ah.

Skyline University College Library Department has organized a 2-day Skyline Book Fair 2017 from April 18-19, 2017 at SUC Campus. The Chief Guests of the event were Sharjah Book Authority Community Outreach Officers, Ms. Eman Ahmed and Ms. Hanan Abdullateef. The first day of the Book Fair has witnessed the enthusiasm of students from various schools to join the Poetry Writing Competition and others to check on different kinds of books brought in by our invited vendors at the Book Fair.

Marketing and Creative Communications Head and Deputy Director, Mr. Rakesh Gaur personally conducted the workshops along with SUC Assistant Manager for Business Development, Mr. Abubakar Sadeeq Ismail and SUC former student and alumni, Mr. Aliyu.

Skyline University College has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with University of Mindanao, Philippines today, March 28, 2017. SUC Head of Quality Assurance and Professor, Dr. Sudhakar Kota and UM SVP for Academic Planning and Services and Graduate School Dean, Dr. Eugenio Guhao signed the MOU on behalf of their respective organizations. The two parties have agreed on several areas of cooperation such as Faculty and Student Exchanges, Collaborative Projects, Scholarships, Information Exchanges, Conferences and Program Review among others.

 

SUC Assistant Professor, Dr. Sharon Mendoza Dreisbach successfully coordinated the MOU between the two parties.

Researchers from around the globe will be deliberating on the fast growing technology and the impact of these technologies on businesses at the 4th International Conference on Business and Management on March 26-27, 2017, at Skyline University College, Sharjah.

 

The participants will discuss whether these technologies are helping to improve productivity or causing technological blackout and disruption to the smooth operations of the business. Whether these rapidly changing technologies are becoming a cost burden on the businesses or becoming obsolete before it is fully written off in the accounting terms or cost benefit comparison of adopting the new technologies.

 

The conference will also have discussions on the harm done by presence of fly-by-night technology firms and practitioners, security threat to data and cost burden of preventing data theft, and the growth of professional crime rackets capable of stealing even highly secured data from any part of the world.

Skyline Celebrates World Water Day

 

Skyline University College organizes World Water Day in the month of March annually for creating awareness on the importance of freshwater and sustainable management of freshwater resources in UAE. Like every year this event is celebrated by the faculty, staff and students at Al Qasba, on 22nd of March, 2016 with great enthusiasm and fervor.

"Better Water Better Jobs" is the theme for the UN World water Day for 2016, Skyline University in collaboration with SHUROOQ. (Sharjah Investment & Development Authority) has organized this event and has gained considerable attention among the community.

This event has generated awareness among the youth of today in conserving water resources and using the water resources judiciously. The event witnessed a number of activities, which include:

    1. A pledge for the conservation of water by the student Representative Neha Swaminathan UN nominee  representing Youth Strategy of UNEP Tunza network
    2. Painting competition by a large number of school students, with ages ranging from 4-13
    3. Awareness walk by students of Skyline University demonstrating the importance of water and its impact all the sections of the society.
    4. Conducted a spot quiz on water conservation, sustainability, water and jobs.

Mr. Sultan Shattaf – Al Qasba Manager SHUROOQ graced the occasion as Chief Guest for this prestigious event.

Speaking on the importance of World Water Day Celebrations Mr. Nitin Anand, Director and Chair of the Executive Council and the dean professor Dr Amitabh Upadhya, Skyline University College, Sharjah said, "We at Skyline University College understand the importance of fresh water and observe this day with all the zeal every year. This year too we celebrated the day and we have undertaken many efforts to save and conserve water in Skyline like water harvesting, installing smart toilets and educating the faculty, staff and students about importance of water conservation."
